Berkeley Lab’s Women Scientists and Engineers Council (WSEC) and the Diversity and Inclusion Office (DIO) are hosting a “Women and Investing, Part II” workshop. This is a follow-up to the Part I workshop on January 28, 2015. The workshop will be facilitated by the Lab’s Fidelity Retirement Counselor, Nancy Pargot. For any questions about the event, please contact the DIO at dio@lbl.gov.
Workshop Description:
For many women, planning for retirement brings special challenges. Why? Because women tend to live longer, save less, and not be as engaged as men when it comes to retirement and financial planning. But women who take an active role in their finances can overcome the odds. This session is designed as a “Part II” to the workshop held in January. This class will introduce you to your UC Retirement System—the UC Retirement Plan (UCRP) and the UC Retirement Savings Program: the 403(b), 457(b); and DC Plans. After the class, you’ll have a better understanding of how the programs work together to help you build a more secure financial future.

I wanted to thank the lab’s Women Scientists and Engineers Counsel & the Diversity and Inclusion Office for hosting this workshop. I was not able to attend Part I, but Ms. Pargot was able to answer the questions that I had about the UC Retirement Programs.
