Dear colleagues,
February is Black History Month, in which we acknowledge and celebrate the global achievements and impacts of African Americans. As the executive sponsor of the African American Employee Resource Group (AAERG), I am a proud collaborator in the effort to achieve the AAERG mission, which is to create a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive work environment at Berkeley Lab.
The past year has been one of pain and reckoning in America on the subject of Black lives. These events have been a sharp reminder of how much work, and how much learning, we still have to do to realize a fully safe, inclusive, and equitable society. Please join me and the African American Employee Resource Group throughout February for a series of events that honor the vibrant culture, contributions, and resilience of our friends, neighbors, and colleagues in the Black community.
