In celebration of Pride Month, the Latin American and Native American (LANA) employee resource group, in partnership with Lambda ERG, invites everyone to a virtual screening of the award-winning short film “Acuitzeramo” followed by a discussion and Q&A with the film’s director Miguel Angel Caballero and actors Luis Antonio Aldana and Sal Lopez.
The film follows the story of an aging gay Mexican man who reaches out to the estranged son of his recently passed partner. The two meet at the emotionally charged funeral, where tensions run high and family secrets are exposed.
“Acuitzeramo” stars Sal Lopez, Matias Ponce, and Luis Antonio Aldana; and was written and directed by Miguel Angel Caballero. It recently won a Best Short award at the American Pavilion of Emerging Filmmakers Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival.
