High School Students Get a Glimpse of Life at the Lab
The Lab’s K-12 Program hosted nearly 80 students last week. During their two-day visit, students engaged with Lab stuff during Q&A sessions, speed networking, tours, and talks. The K-12 program thanks the volunteers who shared their STEM inspirations and encouraged the students to be curious. More>>
Lab Shares Science With Community at Oakland Public Schools Events
Berkeley Lab scientists and staff shared their excitement for STEM at two events with Oakland public schools last week. On May 4, Lab volunteers helped Prescott Elementary celebrate 150 years of education, and on May 8, they led activities during the Oakland Unified School District Science Fair. More>>
A Day of Kid-Friendly Science Activities for ‘Daughters and Sons to Work’ Event
From experiments with dry ice, to cabbage chemistry, to DNA spooling, kids who attended Daughters and Sons to Work day learned about science in a fun-filled way. AAAS Seeks Female STEM Ambassadors
The American Association for the Advancement of Science is accepting applications for its IF/THEN Ambassadors program. The initiative brings together 100 women from a variety of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers to serve as role models for middle school girls.
