In an effort to enhance inclusion and provide support for our early career researchers, Berkeley Lab is proud to announce the formation of the Berkeley Lab Postdoc Association (BLPA). The group’s charter was signed by Lab Deputy Director Horst Simon, BLPA’s Executive Sponsor, on March 2, 2016. BLPA events and meetings will be open to all postdocs (LBNL and affiliates), graduate students, and early career researchers.
While BLPA’s main focus is on providing opportunities for networking and meeting other postdocs, the group also aims to address issues related to professional development, institutional support, and external outreach. BLPA will be hosting a kick-off social event on Monday, March 28th @ 5:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria Dining Hall. If you’re interested in attending or learning more about BLPA, please RSVP here. BLPA will be included as part of the Employee Activities Association, with an Employee Resource Group (ERG) committee. Its steering committee includes Antoine Wojdyla, Etosha Cave, and Valentine Trotter. For more information, please contact postdoc@lbl.gov.
