The 62nd Annual Oakland Science & Engineering Fair (OSEF) will be held virtually this year on May 20 — May 22, as we all work together to flatten the curve! Students and OUSD Partners are invited to attend and show support in a number of ways!

Annual GLOBE Student Research Symposium
On Saturday, May 23rd from 1-3pm. Join the interns from Antioch, Pinole and Skyline high schools as they discuss their GLOBE research projects.
Earth Team is a nonprofit that guides urban youth throughout the East Bay to become environmental stewards through experiential education, skills development, and the building of community connections.
Due to COVID-19, this year’s Annual GLOBE Symposium at Moss Landing Marine Labs has been cancelled. Earth Team interns are coming together over Zoom to present their research on toxic algae blooms in Oakland, and urban water quality trends in Pinole and Antioch. Organizational partners, local scientists and government officials are invited to join Saturday, May 23rd to listen to presentations and ask questions about student research.

Mock Interviews and Resume Building
The Institute for STEM Education will be hosting a series of workshops for students to help them craft and fine-tune their resumes and cover letters, as well as develop their virtual interviewing skills.
ISE is looking for professionals who would be able and willing to:
1. Review and provide feedback for resumes
2. Review and provide feedback for cover letters
3. Participate as a mock video interviewer
Reviews and interviews will take place between May 25th and June 5th and all professionals will be provided with a brief orientation to help support activities, including relevant materials. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the volunteer form here.
