Allen, Ph.D. M.P.H., will be presenting her research on the mental and physical health of African Americans in relationship to gender, socioeconomic position and the stress created by racism. Amani M. Allen, Ph.D., M.P.H., is professor of community health sciences and epidemiology at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. Her research focuses on race and socioeconomic health disparities and the measurement and study of racism as a social determinant of health.
