The Asian Pacific Islander ERG is hosting a book club to discuss the graphic memoir, They Called Us Enemy, on June 24 at 11 – 11:50 AM. It was written by George Takei, Justin Eisinger, and Steven Scott and illustrated by Harmony Becker. The book is the story told by Takei about his childhood while imprisoned within American concentration camps during World War II.
The book is available from local libraries, online outlets, and in voice text format. This will take about ~2 hours to read. Please contact Massie (mlballon@lbl.gov) or Lida (lkgifford@lbl.gov) with any questions.
