The Lab’s K-12 Office will offer volunteer training on BLISS kits on Friday, Feb. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. BLISS kits are designed for elementary school classrooms and cover science topics and science communication. Click to learn more about the available loaner kits and register for training.

Women Scientists Sought for Outreach Event

The Lab will host 90 young women from the Engineering Academies at Pinole and Richmond high schools on Thursday, Jan. 30. Women scientists and engineers at the Lab are invited to take part in a lunch session and short tours for the students. Volunteer to help support women in STEM.

Lab Hosts Science Contest for High Schoolers

Berkeley Lab is capping its celebration of the International Year of the Periodic Table with a contest for high school students. Those who best describe their favorite element with words and a visual component can win a Lab tour for their entire class. Deadline for entries is Dec. 6. More information and registration >>

New Career Pathways Office Created

A new Career Pathways office in the Lab Directorate will support career development in the scientific areas. Initially, the office brings together the existing Postdoc Scholars and Early Career Enrichment programs. Later, the office will support hiring, promotion, faculty appointments, and more.
