Berkeley Lab

Employees Invited to Join Resource Group for Disability Inclusion

inclusion_matters_displayIn an effort to advance disability inclusion in the workplace, Berkeley Lab’s Diversity and Inclusion Office will be creating an employee resource group (ERG) to address the needs and concerns of individuals with disabilities (IWDs).  This group is open to all employees, including IWDs, family members and friends of IWDs, advocates, and supporters of disability inclusion.

Implemented as a best practice in both public and private sectors, ERGs are associations of employees who are organized around a primary diversity dimension, and developed to further the organization’s business goals.  ERGs promote opportunities for professional growth and development, provide an opportunity for informal networking, and support Berkeley Lab’s vision and values.  ERGs also allow employees of all levels to participate more directly in the Lab’s ongoing diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives, and to assist Berkeley Lab in fully integrating D&I into our day-to-day business practices.

If you are interested in joining, please email dio@lbl.gov or call x 5789.  We will schedule a kick-off meeting to launch the ERG (meeting date and ERG name TBD).  To learn more about disability employment policy from the U.S. Department of Labor, please visit ODEP’s website.
