Announcing Launch of U.S. Veteran Self-ID Campaign and Video

Calling all Veterans!

The Veterans Employee Resource Group is reaching out to all of our U.S. veterans to ask for your help in identifying yourself as a Veteran through our Employee Self-Service system. By self-identifying, you will confirm your veteran status which allows the Lab to recognize the importance of our veteran workforce, ensures the Lab is accurately tracking our progress in increasing our Veteran presence, and helps find resources for developing veteran-friendly programs and policies at the Berkeley Lab. This year’s self-identification campaign will run from October 17-31, 2017, before Veterans’ Day. Click the image on the right to view our promotional poster.

To watch a video by the Lab’s Ray Turner (former Navy Commander and Division Deputy of Operations for the Joint Genome Institute) on the importance of self-identification, please click here. As a token of appreciation, each self-identifying veteran will receive a unique Berkeley Lab challenge coin if they choose to do so at this year’s Veteran Appreciation Luncheon on November 8, 2017.

For questions regarding this effort to reach out to our Veteran community, please contact the Veterans Employee Resource Group Co-Chairs, Rich Celestre and Phil Weiss.

Thank you all for your service to our country and the Berkeley Lab.
