Before & After the Meeting: Tips on Planning and Next Steps

DATE:    Thursday, June 20
TIME:    10:30 am — 12:00 pm
LOCATION:   South Hall Room 202, UC Berkeley

An effective meeting doesn’t start and end in the conference room — there are key steps in preparation and follow-up that ensure we come to our meetings prepared and leave with clear plans of action. For this session, staff colleagues Layla Naranjo and Aimee Dandrea will share their expertise on the life cycle of meeting preparation: drafting an agenda, following up, and preparing for the next meeting. This will be an interactive workshop with an opportunity to practice your agenda-drafting skills and develop an action plan for next steps.

PRESENTER BIOS:

Throughout her career as a project manager, she has managed a wide range of web projects for Fortune 500 clients, higher education institutions, non-profits, and hi-tech firms. In her spare time she enjoys curling up to a good book, making risograph zines, and knitting her way through sci-fi classics.

Layla Naranjo has 15 years of professional experience at Cal with a broad range of roles and at various levels within the organization including work on the recruitment, orientation, retention, degree completion of underrepresented students as well as organizational development, leadership, and management.
