Call for SAGE camp SAGE Guides!

The K-12 Program Office is now actively recruiting volunteers as SAGE Guides to walk our girls through the professional development curriculum that we have been hard at work designing. If you are available the week of August 1st both 8:30-8:45am and 11:40am-12:35pm, we need your help!!! This opportunity is open to all LBL employees so please spread the word and share the links (or forward this email) to anyone you think would like to participate! We are looking for a variety of professionals of all lived experiences in different stages of their careers. The goal of a SAGE Guide is to help deliver workshops on professional growth, including self-awareness, communication, leadership, and learning from success and failure. You do NOT need to be a STEM professional to support these young women.
More detail can be found at the SAGE-S volunteer website here, including links to the Information Session video & slides. This will be a super fun way to give back to the scientific community by engaging with girls who are interested in developing their career skills! Training sessions will be offered for all the curriculum. Volunteer scripts and lesson materials will be provided.
Please submit this form to let us know your availability. If you think you might have conflicts with one or more time slots that week (especially if you think you can make the afternoons and not the mornings) please reach out to us! We want as many people involved as possible, and we will work with you to make sure your schedule is respected. The form also includes opportunities to volunteer at other times or with other sessions, so take a look!
A small piece of your time can make a big difference in a girl’s life! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to: Elina D Rios (erios@lbl.gov), Lisa Claus (lclaus@lbl.gov) or Erin Hansen (evhansen@lbl.gov).
