Lambda Alliance presents Pride events 2021

Dear Lambda Alliance members, allies, and enthusiasts,

Next week marks the start of Pride, a month in which we celebrate Sexual orientation & Gender Minority (SGM) culture at home and in the workplace!

Fostering unity is a big part of any Pride month and this year SF Pride’s theme is “All in this together”. So what better way to say this than reach out to other Lambda organizations?

With that in mind, this Pride the Berkeley Lab Lambda Alliance is planning to host a number of events that we’re also opening up to the other National Labs. Below is a complete list of all our events, those marked with NLP are open to National Lab Pride! You can also our events on our dedicated website: the IDEA calendar, or the LBL events calendars!

This year, as with last, in-person celebrations will not be possible but fear not: Lambda has a suite of fantastic events lined up for you.
From the educational (seminar on allyshipSGM poster session,  joint event with the Latin American and Native American ERG and members of the Bay Area American Indian Two Spirits organization, TED talksand a family panel) to the more recreational (a jeopardy-style quiz with the ETA divisionvirtual game-night with Jackbox Gamesbook-club, and two amazing movie screenings).

This, all in addition to the classic Pride float parade, which like last year will be a virtual event with shoe-box floats. You can come and make your own float with other members of Lambda at the two crafternoons we’re hosting – one tomorrow and one in a few weeks.

We mark the beginning and end of Pride month raising and lowering the Lambda Alliance banner inside Blackberry Gate. Tune in to watch both events with special messages from the IDEA office’s  Lady Idos – Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer –  and our executive sponsor, Dr. Mary Maxon, Associate Lab Director to the Biosciences area!

Happy Pride!
