Heather Whiteman, PhD

Heather Whiteman, PhD, is an expert in People Analytics, Talent Transformation, and the Future of Work. Whiteman has a master’s in Industrial Organizational Psychology and a doctorate in Human Capital Management. Whiteman teaches People Analytics at UC Berkeley Haas and is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Data, Design & Delivery for a More Just World at the University of Washington Information School. Whiteman serves as a Future Workplace Executive Fellow, a board and technology advisor to organizations focused on people data for good and is a Fulbright Scholar to Guatemala for 2022-2023. She also serves as a U.S. representative for the International Organization for Standards (ISO) Technical Advisory Group TC 260 focused on the creation of global standards for human capital measurement, reporting and public disclosure.

Whiteman has held executive roles leading people analytics, talent management, learning and development, HR operations, and HR technology at companies like General Electric (GE), PG&E, and more through consulting partnerships. She has led organizations through hyper-growth, digital transformation, mergers, and acquisitions and restructuring with the use of advanced, data-informed talent management techniques.

Whiteman’s passion and focus lie in helping individuals and organizations prepare for the challenges of the future of work, in digital talent transformation, and in enabling a new future driven by fair data and using people analytics insights for good.
